Kimi Suziki, a top-tier industry professional in the world of music therapy, leads “Music Therapy”, sharing her knowledge surrounding her experience in the wellness industry. With skill development workshops like this, CMC promotes diversity, sourcing both members and external professionals.


More about Kimi Suzuki:
Kimiko Suzuki is a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) with an MA in Creative Arts Therapies, Music Therapy Option from Concordia University (’18). She has been employed by the Music Therapy Services of Simcoe County (MTSSC) since 2018. She works with clients of all ages and abilities in the region to provide individual sessions, group recreational programming, and community care, in addition to adapted music lessons. She has been the MTSSC Inclusivity and Advocacy Team Leader since 2020.

Kimiko’s thesis research poster “Music-Centered Music Therapy Interventions with the Viola” was presented at the 2018 Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) Conference, and she was a co presenter of “Women, Culture and Race in Music Therapy in Canada: An Invitation to Conversation” at the 2019 CAMT Conference. She was a co founding member of the Equity Advisory Council (EAC) to the CAMT in 2019, and she has been Equity and Diversity Chair on the CAMT Board of Directors since 2021.Kimiko received a BFA in Music Performance, Classical Viola at York University (’14). Her chamber group the Grenadier String Quartet is the resident string quartet for the Toronto Strings Composition Workshop at the Canadian Music Centre.
